A far-left activist named Susan Rosenberg bombed the Capitol in 1983. She and her group also plotted to murder members of congress. She spent 16 years in prison before having her sentence commuted by sitting president at the time, Bill Clinton.

He also commuted her co-conspirator’s sentence as well.
