This came up on in my feed today and it illustrated something I have been thinking about for sometime. Tribalism verses Nationalism. Identity politics is very rooted in Tribalism. This man is British and considers himself British first.
The export of American Black Supremacy is a problem. It is impacting countries that have never had race issues. People are screaming for reparations here, because they are black and immigrated from other areas, when slavery was outlawed here 33 years before we even became a country. The few slaves we had were not "black".
We actually had a very small black population up until the 90s (as did the UK) but had more people from commonwealth nations like India and Hong Kong.
According to the comments, this is a character that people traded and was used to promote a marmalade brand. I am guessing something akin to Aunt Jemima and Uncle Ben both of which are now seen as racist.
Getting back to my original point, Nationalism may breed war between nations but ...
