As some of you may have guessed, I'm a Harry Potter fan. (Huffle is short for Hufflepuff.) So, the HBO Harry Potter team is hiring a black actor to play Snape. It was bad enough that Alan Rickman way was too old to play Snape, who should have been in his early 30s. Snape is supposed to be greasy, pale, and hook-nosed. J.K. Rowling is overseeing this mess. I don't know what she's been smoking. Somebody bring me a time-turner.
My friends scold me because I love this scene from "Gone With the Wind." Mellie is a moral paragon. Scarlett is immoral for any number of reasons. I try to explain that Scarlett is a survivor. Mellie was. up the stairs when Scarlett shot the Yankees. And yes, Scarlett will beat the Yankees at their own game. Plus the whole movie is racist. And yes it is.
